When you imagine the perfect covered patio, what do you visualize? Many homeowners think that a patio cover has to adjoin their home or flow from an exit or entrance located on the residence for it to work for them. But, having a “covered” doesn’t necessarily mean that it has to be directly connected to your home. An outdoor living structure can be anything you want it to be, and can be placed in any  location that you feel will serve your function and lifestyle best whether that’s attached or detached.  You may feel the perfect spot for your covered patio is poolside serving as a refuge from the hot Texas afternoons, or maybe a  on prime spot within your landscape that offers you endless vistas of blooming perennials. Making your image of the perfect covered patio a reality takes an expert patio builder with design savvy and experience.

This "in-construction" image shows the extensive use of cedar used in constructing the patio cover.

In the case of this Arlington, TX covered patio which is still under construction, the homeowners felt that a detached structure would work best with their individual needs and their landscape. Thus, we are creating an outdoor oasis detached from the residence that is laden with rustic influence and unique features that truly make this patio cover one of a kind.

The covered patio uses an exquisite combination of stone and wood. It is a full wood structure built of rustic and aromatic cedar. The natural look of cedar and stone used together make this patio a stunning work of design in mixed medias. The stone we are using is called perfect fit dry stack stone. We are incorporating built-in benches with the same stone. We finished the caps on the benches with Leuders stone. A custom outdoor fireplace is included in the design of the patio cover and will also be constructed of dry stack stone.

Designing the fireplace within the covered patio will add to the functionality and use of the structure. Nothing sparks conversation or relaxation quite like the hypnotic essence of a fire. This is another way in we integrate unique design characteristics into our covered patio designs. Having the luxury of the outdoor fireplace incorporated into the patio will surely make it the homeowners favorite place in the house (or in this case, out of the house).

This patio cover’s interior includes a tongue and groove cedar ceiling. With an abundant finished size of 20 x 16. The homeowners chose a stain and stamp floor in tones that will compliment the stone and wood used throughout the entire structure.  We are looking forward to the completion of this detached covered patio, as are these Arlington homeowners as well.
